Last weekend saw a trip to the big smoke to meet up with the lovely M and J. I always enjoy London, living in the countryside is amazing and beautiful, but we dont have Jens Dumplings!, or the National Portrait Gallery, two things I was able to include in my visit. I met up with M and J just round the corner from their wedding venue the very beautiful Sutton House, owned by the National Trust. We found some great backgrounds nearby and even a model squirrel who paused to pose for us during the shoot. We then zoomed off in M's van to their party venue, and got some great shots in this historic ex church. More to follow on that after the event.. Here for now are a few of my favourite shots from the pre wedding shoot.

Well what a week! Life as a mum-tographer has some great high's and lows. Lots of both this week all crammed into one half term. Here is a high to share, a wonderful shoot at the beautiful Hellens Manor in Herefordshire. Styled and concepts by me, Make up by Penny Wadley Gibson, Hair by Joe Honey, Flowers by Bamboo of Ledbury, Accessories by Becky Lewis, and general assistance from Annelise Appleby.
For this shoot I wanted to pick up themes of female identity and relationship and objectivity. Inspiration came also from the wonderful work of Jane Campion the films The Piano and Bright Star.
I placed the shoot in my mind in the regency period, and requested dresses which reflected this style, I wanted some more modern kicks, and instucted Joe and Penny to slightly "deconstuct" as much as they felt confident to. Finally I wanted to respond to the environment as much as possible. These are just a few sneak peeks, at low resolution, full post to follow.
